Ecuador, 2017
In November of 2017 we visited the Amazon and western slope regions of Ecuador to see mammals and birds. In the Amazon basin we went to Cuyabeno Reserve, the Napo River near Sani Lodge, and the Shiripuno River basin in Yasuni National Park. On the western slopes we visited the cloud forests near Mindo and at Maquipucuna Reserve. Our last stop took us to Cayambe-Coca Reserve on the continental divide in the Andes east of Quito. With this variety of habitats and altitudes, we managed to see over 300 bird and nearly 50 mammal species. For more information visit our blog posts at
