We flew to Brazil in May, 2025 in search of primates and other wildlife. Starting in the Atlantic Rainforest northeast of Rio de Janeiro near Sliva Jardim, we found our 1st primate, a Golden Lion Tamarin. We flew to Porto Velho and Rio Roosevelt in the southern Amazon basin to continue our primate search, staying at a lodge located on one of the portages of the Roosevelt Expedition of 1913. After a week or so, we flew to Manaus to board an Amazon riverboat, the Dorinha, and explore the tribituraries downriver toward Santarem looking for primates and birds. After the Amazon River cruise, we stopped in Colombia on the way home to look for the Clouded Tiger-Cat.
